picture time!!

It's a long story, but I just remembered I could use the pics on my disk from my camera even though I don't have a cable! SO, here are just a few pics...The Muehlbergers, their house/porch/yards, view of downtown Atlanta from Turner Field (home of the Braves), and pic of Mike and I with his fav. team's ball inside Turner field. I hope to have some pictures of Louisiana online after we get back so stay tuned...

Louisiana bound!

Just to let everyone know we are returning to Kenner tomorrow to check out our stuff and bring back what we can. We had to get a trailer hitch put on Paul's truck so our trip was delayed one day but we will head out around 8 tomorrow morning and should be back either Saturday night or Sunday night...depending on how long it takes us to load stuff up!

I have a favor for everyone...I'm curious as to who reads this blog...could you make a posting just saying HI if you read this?? I don't expect everyone to post all the time but I've been curious! Thanks a ton!!

I'll post again when we get back to kenner!

7:22

Tonight was AWESOME! We (me, Mike, Corey, Tracey, and Kenneth) went to a college ministry called 722 (www.722.net). It was pretty cool...about 3,000 college kids go each week and it consists of praise and worship and then a large group speaker. It was so nice to be able to praise God with so many other college age people...and to some up-beat music!! David Crowder's new CD came out today and we sang SEVERAL of his new songs..for those of you who don't know David Crowder's stuff, it's good stuff! lol...

Before we went to 722, we went to a Chick-fil-a (they are ALL over the place here!) that does all you can eat nuggets on Tuesday nights. Mike and Corey (another NOBTS student displaced here) were going to compete but since we were on a time limit, they decided to tie and pick it up another night. They stopped at 62 nuggets EACH and said they could have kept going. The record at that particular Chick-fil-a is 115. I'll let you know if he beats the record next week! 10 bucks says he does! :) Anyway, I'm EXHAUSTED so I'm going to head to bed.

We are planning on going to Kenner Thursday morning...more on that later!! GOOD NIGHT ALL!!

We stand and lift up our hands For the joy of the Lord is our strength! We bow down and worship Him now How great, how awesome is He! And together we sing Holy is the Lord God Almighty! The earth is filled with His glory! Holy is the Lord God Almighty! The earth is filled with His glory! The earth is filled with His glory!

It's rising up all around. It's the anthem of the Lord's renown. It's rising up all around. It's the anthem of the Lord's renown.

And together we sing, everyone sing Holy is the Lord God Almighty! The earth is filled with His glory! Holy is the Lord God Almighty! The earth is filled with His glory! The earth is filled with His glory!
(lyrics to "Holy is the Lord" by Chris Tomlin)

Mike and I heard this song on our way home from church and it just reminded me of how awesome my God is!!! The joy of the Lord is my strength...man, how powerful is that?!?! What does that really mean? Everyday I am faced with the realization that my life has taken a dramatic turn. But even when I ponder that, I don't become sad, angry, upset, or even resentful. Instead, I become overwhelmed with the control God has in my life. I'm not saying I have it all together, because believe me, I don't! But, I have a long life ahead of me full of following God where HE wants us to go...not where would be fun, not where my family wants me to be (sorry everyone!), and not where I have friends, but where GOD wants me to be. The thought can be a bit scary but the blessings we have recieved during the last few months are so overwhelming that they counteract the scariness of the situation!!

The day after the day after Mike's Day

I wasn't able to post yesterday but Mike's day was GREAT!! We went into Atlanta and started our day off with some chili cheese dogs at the Varsity. Now, I am NOT a chili cheese dog person...i like my hotdogs plain and dry...so I got the burger. BIG MISTAKE! The burgers are NOT their specialty and it was obvious...but, after one bite of Mike's chili cheese dog, I was convinced...they were THE BEST CHILI CHEESE DOGS EVER!!! and the onion rings! oh my! But, the coolest thing was the atmosphere. You walked up to the counter that had about 20ish cashiers ready to take your order. After they got one person their food, they'd start yelling "What'll ya have??" in an auctioneer voice over and over until someone stepped up to order. With 6-7 yelling at one time, it was CRAZY!! Definately a place to go when visiting! Next up was the Underground. We were disappointed with this...it is a mall that is underground but it really wasn't very interesting...in the same area, however, is the World of Coke museum (Coca-Cola). Now, that was interesting! Another good attraction when visiting. After the Coke musuem, we got back in the car and went "exploring" some more...Mike LOVES just getting in the car and driving until we find something and there are always interesting things along the way. We found an ESPNZone...if you have never been to one, it was REALLY neat! The bottom floor was a restaraunt w/TVs everywhere. Every sports game on television was shown. The top floor was all sport oriented arcade type games. There was a game for any sport you could think of: golf, soccer, basketball, horse races, boxing, ice hockey, bowling, etc. By the time we finished at the ESPNZone, it was time for dinner, so we changed into nicer clothes and ate dinner...man was it good! The evening was topped off with a movie...all in all, it was a GREAT DAY! Yesterday was an experience. To make it short, First Baptist Church of Sunny Side is your good ole' back woods, country church!!

Mike's Day!!

I just got off the phone w/MY NANA and Sumer and it was SOOO good to talk to them! I hadn't talked to Sumer in a while so it was REALLY good to talk to her! For those of you who don't know, Sumer is my (soon to be 16 year old) cousin! Anyway, tomorrow is Mike's birthday but today is MIKE'S DAY! lol....we are going to be busy tomorrow w/church and all so we decided to celebrate his birthday today...we're going to go sightseeing downtown, eat at the Varsity (next door to Turner Stadium), see Underground Atlanta, and whatever else Mike decides to do! Then, top it all off with dinner somewhere! It will be nice to get out and see things...we've been busy lately but most of it was waiting in lines at Red Cross or taking the time to set up a new bank account...boring stuff like that! Anyway...I better get in the shower or we won't get to see much!!

Unemployment...it's not ALL bad!

Hey everyone! If you didn't catch it from my title, I'm still unemployed and it's not ALL bad! I've decided to look around but not kill myself trying to find a job right now. There are a lot of things we have to take care of and God is providing in awesome ways for us! We may have an opportunity to go back into Kenner next week...we have debated on whether or not we should or could and how we would get our stuff that is salvagable. We went to talk to Shondi, the camp director at Flint River Camp (where we were originally going to stay) and they have some groups that are itching to go into the area. There is a dual cab truck and a trailer that we could have access to so between the truck and the crew, we could be able to get some of our stuff next week. We want to check out the damage before the house we are moving into gets furnished because, let's face it, we'd rather have our stuff than donated stuff!

We are doing pretty good right now...we went out yesterday to explore the city and it helped us get acquainted with things. We saw Turner Field...home of the Braves. Linda (who we are staying with) is a HUGE Braves fan and her daughter has season tickets...she's trying to get us some! Well, Mike is probably ready for me to finish so we can leave. We have some errands to run and then more exploring!

CHANGES!!

Hey everyone! Well, things have changed AGAIN!! The short version of this story is that we are now staying with a couple in Sunny Side, Georgia (actually, we are in Hampton but it's all the same...suburb of Atlanta)...there is a church that is going to let us stay in their parsonage once their pastor moves into his new house in a few weeks! It is going to be a good thing (a lot better than staying at the camp) but will take a little time. Right now, we are staying with a couple from the church and they are great!! Mike registered for school today. He will have all his classes on Monday and is going to finish 2 of them online. The seminary is going to take a break after this week until the first week of October to get their staff and students back together. SO, Mike won't start back until then. I haven't looked for a job yet (we just got here Sunday night) but I have some ideas! We finally forwarded our mail, at least for now! We are having it sent to the address where we are staying. If anyone needs it, please e-mail me and i'll be glad to get it to you!

I'm going to go for now, but hopefully I'll keep these posts up to date!!

Our Newest New Adventure

Well, my sis has been bugging me about creating a blog for about a month now...here it is! I hope I keep it updated regularly, but right now, i can't promise much! Mike and I are leaving for Atlanta in the morning and I'm kind of nervous. I'm excited but we have to learn a new city, new suburbs, new roads, new everything, AGAIN! We just did this a month ago! For those of you who don't know us (or don't know us well, lol) I will post our "story" of the past few weeks in blogs to come! I know this is short, but I need to get going. I knew if I didn't set this up now, it wouldn't get done...and we can't have Christy mad at us, now can we! lol...
